Which countries own the most patents historically?
A historical view of where patent ownership is most concentrated, enables us to better understand how today's current top patent owners in Post-quantum cryptography got to where they are. Or alternatively, which countries used to be a top patent owner in a technology but have since seen their leadership position slip. We track their patent ownership through two decades by tracking patents with an earliest priority year between 2005 and 2025.
